Eventing Levels
In 2006 The Pony Club introduced a grading system for cross country courses and show jumping courses to be used in Pony Club Eventing. The aim was to standardise levels nationwide. These levels go from Level 1 to Level 5, with Level 1 being the lowest and Level 5 the highest. A lot of branches use British Eventing courses so Level 3 was made comparable to Intro, Level 4 comparable to Pre-Novice, and Level 5 the same as BE Novice. A full breakdown of the levels can be downloaded below.
It is hoped that this system will enable competitors at Pony Club Events, both Branch and Area to know the height of courses before they enter, and it is hoped that organisers of all Branch events will state the level of each class on their schedule. (Courses between two levels must be graded at the lower level) To help this system to work it will be helpful if the technicality of the course is stated on the schedule. This will also help those competitors wishing to fast track through the BE system by using their Competitor Record Cards.

Eloise and Katie Memorial Trust Bursary
The winners of the individual sections of the Lawnflite Eventing Championships have won a two-day training course with Gill Watson courtesy of the Eloise and Katie Memorial Trust.
This is a very generous prize donated by the Plunkett family. The trust has been set up in memory of Eloise and Katie Plunkett who both died of cancer, Katie from Leukaemia in 1996 at the age of 16 and Eloise from skin cancer in 2002 at the age of 27. The trust's aims are to make grants to causes important to the Plunkett family and to Eloise and Katie. The three areas of work are: Cancer charities, Parkinson's Disease charities, and Youth enabling charities.
For further information on the Trust visit www.eloiseandkatie.com.
