League Competition Series for Centre Members

This is a basic format for the League Competition. It may be ammended to suit each centre. The emphasis is on making the competition fun.

Class 1: 6 years and under

Lead rein optional

Phase 1: Riding Test

Walk or trot on a large circle
Halt at a named point
Walk or trot in a straight line

Each movement is marked out of 5 points

Phase 2: Jumping (if applicable)

Jump 3 of the following:

Single pole (2 points)
Trotting poles (6 points)
Cross poles (10 points)
Upright (14 points)

Phase 2: Gymkhana (if applicable)

Choose 3 of the following:

Round the World (pony to be held)
Barrel to Barrel (carry object)
Stepping Stones
Bending

Other games may be specified by the centre. Each game is judged on time
(1st = 10 Points, 2nd = 9 Points, 3rd = 8 Points etc).

Class 2: 7 to 10 years

Lead rein optional

Phase 1: Riding Test

Walk or trot on a large circle
Trot a figure of eight
Trot a straight line between two points
Simple change of rein in trot

Each movement is judged out of 5 points

Phase 2: Jumping (if applicable)

Jump 3 of the following:

Trotting poles (2 points)
Cross Poles (6 points)
Upright (10 points)
Parrallel (14 points)

Phase 2: Gymkhana (if applicable)

Choose 3 of the following:

Half Scissors (Pony to be held)
Egg and Spoon
Stepping Stones
Bending

Other games may be specified by the centre. Each game is judged on time
(1st = 10 Points, 2nd = 9 Points, 3rd = 8 Points etc).

Class 3: 11 years and old

Phase 1: Riding Test

Trot and Canter on a 20 meter Circle
Trot to Halt at a set point on a straight line
Walk to Trot
Change of rein in trot with a change of diagonal

Phase 2: Jumping (if applicable)

Jump 4 of the following:

Trotting poles (2 points)
Cross Poles (6 points)
Upright (4 points)
Parrallel (10 points)
Double (14 points)

Phase 2: Gymkhana (if applicable)

Choose 3 of the following:

Half Scissors (Pony to be held)
Egg and Spoon
Stepping Stones
Flags
