***Congratulations to Sarah Stretton who has been selected to compete in the European Young Riders (Eventing) Championships in Germany, 25 - 28th September***

At the Championships

Lauren Causer receiving her Intermediate Eventing 7th place at the Championships.

Summer of success for North Warwickshire

The summer seaon has seen some great results for NWPC accross the disciplines with plenty of representation at the National Championships:

Polocrosse

NWPC Polocrosse teams did fantastically at the champs. Seniors, Chris Milburn, Lucinda Cornforth, James Hiatt and juniors Layla Henshaw, Ashleigh Burbidge, Dave Baker who all play as one team, came 2nd overall. Primary juniors Amy Harper, Berty Cornforth and Theo Cornforth came 5th overall.

Eventing

Good representation from NWPC at the Championships with both Ellie Robbins and Edward Chamberlain winning their Open sections at the Area 7 Event, and going on to do well at the finals in Derbyshire. Lauren Causer represented NWPC and Area 7 for the Intermediate Event and did a great double clear and came in a brilliant 7th.

Lucy Vincent qualified for the Novice Championship Event, held in Cheshire and had a great time, Mr Darcy jumping everything! Lucy was unexpectedly joined by the Novice team who had a last minute call up. The Novice team of Zara Heathcote, Kate Bleloch, Amber Franklin and Sophie Tombs were dissappointed not to automatically qualify for the Championships when  just two points separated the top three teams at the Area 7 event and only the top two qualified. Their plight was noticed and they were invited along (Amy Hubbard replacing the injured Sophie) and justified their inclusion coming 9th out of the 38 teams, Zara coming 4th in Section and the team winning the trophy for Best Horsemanship as well!

Dressage

Steph Elliott was sole representative in Dressage at the Championships, riding Red Rebel in the Intermediate class. She came a brilliant second in section, qualifying for the ride off, where she came 12th overall.

Tetrathlon

Emily Wells qualified for the Tetrathlon championships and did well competing against girls much older than her. Next year she would like a team to go with her so get into training all you athletes!

Mounted Games

After going to Newcastle Zones to qualify for the Championships the mounted games team of Layla Henshaw, Morgan Haven, Louise Burgess, Nicole Wilkes and Natalie Clough came  a wonderful 2nd in the Intermediate runner up.

Associates Event

Well done to Vicky Milburn who came third in the new Associates Competition, a combined training Arena Event, riding Shakespear's Pride.
