General Rallies.
To provide regular opportunities to attend rallies suited to peoples individual abilities, the Monday general rallies are planned as follows.
Monday nights at Sarah Streethers, Crossways, Clutton Hill, 5pm and 6pm lessons. These are general working rallies and correct dress should be worn (although as the weather deteriorates and the evenings draw in it will be acceptable to wear coloured jods and of course waterproofs). Due to financial constraints the costings will have to change slightly this year. The price will be £30 divided by the number of children in the ride but will be capped at no more than £10 each i.e. if there are only 2 in a ride then you only pay £10, there will never be more than 6 in a ride so this could mean that you actually pay less than in the last year. You must book a place in advance with Celia Drewett 01761 453858 and all places once booked are considered paid (if you dont appear you will be charged) remember that instructors have to be booked and sometimes other members have been denied a place. However, if a session is oversubscribed and a replacement can be found then you would not be expected to pay.

Individual Rally Dates:
Please make sure you are fully rallied up if you wish to be considered for any area competition!!!!!
Must have attended at least 3 rallies before the end of June.
Note about the hunting rallies:
Generally talk to children and parents together on hunting safely, crossing a country and general discipline of the hunting field. Reintroducing the Hunting certificate for Pony Club and Non Pony Club members, this Rally will be incorporated into the first part of the certificate. We would wish that all children 14 years old and under bring their ponies, together with all other children who have not either hunted before or have not hunted on their current pony. For the second part of the rally we would then take the hounds on a short exercise with these children on their ponies so that they can see the hounds and the parents can see how the ponies behave.
Please be assured that these meetings are run to encourage young people, and we would hope to achieve from this, a happy and safe environment within the hunting field which continues to keep the goodwill of the farmers and landowners.
We realise that this is a commitment when we all have busy lives but, we do hope that you will give this project your time and full support for the safety of all the children and young people who hunt with the Mendip Farmers Hunt.
It would be most helpful if you would reply by email or phone with numbers and dates of both events. If children are unable to make either of these dates, alternative dates can be arranged.
On behalf of the Joint Masters, I look forward to seeing you.
Richard Standing.
