Tetrathlon & Triathlon Activities
The Tetrathlon section of the Pony Club has grown considerably over the last four years and has been very successful under the good leadership of Cheryle. This growth has resulted in a huge increase in work and responsibility to make sure it runs smoothly. It has therefore been decided to form a committee to run the Tetrathlon section in the Pony Club to try and share some of the jobs and responsibilities.
The committee consists of:

Mary will represent this sub committee on the main committee so has overall responsibility and is the person who you should contact if you have any queries.
Training Sessions:
Shooting Practice: (we have plenty of guns for members to use - you don't need to have your own). Shooting practice is held at Shepton Mallet Gun Club with a qualified instructor usually on alternate Friday evenings. Dates & times are:
- Friday 6th June 2008, 5.30pm
- Friday 20th June 2008, 5.30pm
- Friday 27th June 2008, 5.30pm
- Friday 4th July 2008, 5.30pm
- Friday 11th July 2008, tbc (pre-Area Comp practice)
(note further Tuesday evenings can be arranged as required, see Cheryle)
Cost (to cover gun club, pellets, targets etc) is £1.50 per session per child. Any members ,of any age, may attend shooting practice, although we always abide by the shooting instructors judgement as to a childs maturity and physical ability to handle the guns ~ safety is paramount. However you do have to be 8 years or older to compete in the shooting phase of competitions.

Running Practice: occasional training sessions are held on Sunday mornings over the winter (usually adjacent to the shoooting club). During the summer we find most Tet team members practice independently.

Swimming Practice: on an ad hoc basis, contact Cheryle for info.
Note: Swimming costumes in club colours are available, please contact David Clarke (01761 241434) for details.

Cross Country (Riding) Practice: for those considering area Tet competition and Inter-Area Team.

Competitions: (for latest competition write-ups/results click on link at bottom of this page). Please note all entries for competitions to be via the Mendip team manager (Cheryle Twiggs). Triathlons (ie no horses) will begin at end of October, those wishing to compete must attend regular shooting practices (see above)....this is a health & safety issue which we must take seriously.
