Mounted Games Championships Finals 2008

The Pony Club Championships had a new venue this year at Draycott House in Derbyshire.

Fun was had by both our senior teams at the Championship & Intermediate Finals on 19^th & 20^th August respectively. The smiles on faces made all the hard work over a long season worthwhile. We can’t always win but we can enjoy it!

Well done to our Senior A team of Florence Woodward, Eddie Surman, Emma Weir, Bethaney Palmer & Vicky Hulme. For Eddie & Florence it marked the end of a successful era having both been on the winning Prince Philip Cup Team at HOYS 2007 & runners up 2006 plus 2005 for Eddie. 

Our Senior B team of Emma Clingo, Lottie Smith, Will Crawley, Tilly Mantell, Katie Hill & non riding reserve Ryan Tilley came 2^nd in their heat earning them a place in the Championships Intermediate Final. Congratulations to the team for taking 4^th place overall. It was the final ride of Pony Club games for Emma Clingo who must be commended for sticking with it after losing her place in the A team after her pony Chloe went lame at the zone. Thank you to the Surman family for loaning their pony Mel to Emma.

Sadly our Junior teams did not qualify for the Championships but never mind 2009 will soon come around! Well done to you all for practising hard and competing in all types of conditions …. Badsworth in the snow & Wetherby in the torrential rain???. You did so well at the AREA. So many of you every week at practice!! Keep it going!
