Easter Fun Show 2007

Super atmosphere, great venue, good courses and some fantasic riding!" That just about sums up this years Fun Show at Weston Lawns. All the classes were well supported and the Style &  Performance classes seem to be paying dividends, judging by the standard of jumping in all the classes!

Emma Kitching  (Pippa) opened the show with a win in the 1'3" Style & Performance, with Florence Gilman (Tinkerbell) & Emily Wilson ( Pringle) tying in 2nd place, & Emma & Florence scored again in the 1'6" pairs.  Hannah Ingham ( Maddy) & Jenna Evans (Honey) tyed for first place in the 1'9" Style & Performance, & 3 tyed for 3rd, Megan  Taylor, (Barney Rubble) Alice GilmanMinstrel)   & Katherine Stack (Dusty). These classes were introduced at the 1st Fun Show, 3 years ago, & the standard is really rising all the time.

The pairs 2' 0" was a real race against the clock, but Beatle Payne(Dinky) & Jenna Evans (Honey) showed that neat turns rather than just speed can win classes. This class really got everyone going, & Jenna & Hannah Ingham (Maddy) came 2nd, closely followed by Harriet & Lotty Watson. ( Phoenix Two Tone & Brook).

Lois Vincent really set My Little Star alight to win both the 2'3" & 2'6" classes by several seconds, but Bethany Palmer ( Cedar Farm Little Gem) & Laura Bostock  (Ronan Keating) put in good tries to catch her in the former. Abi Bliss(Oliver) improved her 2nd spot in the 2'6" to win the 2'9" from Sophie Croxton on Lacey, who also, despite being the smallest pony in the class, came 2nd in the 3'. Katie Appleby on Bobby Dazzler won this, to put an good end to a long, but successful day! These were just the major prizewinners, however a mention & congratulations must go to all competitors' show jumping skills & sportsmanship.

Of course, events like this cannot run without help from many people, so a big THANK YOU must go to the heroic Andrew for being there all day & doing a bit of everything! Also to Rob for judging the Style & Performance classes, Louise Stack,  Wendy & Lucy Palmer for their sterling work on the collecting ring ( always a challenge!) & Julie Tilley, who was with us not in body but in spirit, for doing lots of work "behind the scenes"!
