EURO PONY CLUB CAMP 2006

Grace Warden and I were lucky enough to go to Euro Pony Club Camp this year in Ireland. There were lots of other people from other countries as well as Ireland including, Poland, Belgium, Hungary, Swizerland and Germany. A lot of them had either a parent or grandparent travelling with them. Grace and I were the only ones from England, we also had my Gran! We stayed in Guerteen College, which is a great place, with a swimming pool. We all had rooms to stay in, Grace and I shared. Each Irish member had to bring along an extra pony/horse for us to borrow. Grace and I were very lucky, I had a pony called Dan, he was a lovely coloured pony, exactly like our pony Sunny, but with no brakes!!. Grace had a lovely horse called Rhino, who was just like her Mum's Oliver but smaller. We did x-country, mounted games, Polo, Le trec(which I won), show-jumping (which Grace won) plus much more. We had lots of visits to places in the evenings as well. We had a great time, the Irish made us all very welcome and we have made some great friends. When we flew back from Dublin airport Grace and I had to go straight to the Novice Challenge Dressage Championships in Cheshire, unfortunately we were not allowed our luggage due to a problem with the plane on landing so we had to go to Cheshire without any riding kit! Fortunately we managed to borrow enough to compete. I would recommend anyone to go to Euro camp it is really great. Holly Brown Wylye Valley.
